Life is a fight and we are all fighting different types of battles everyday, whether you can see them or not. Today, Anthony has the pleasure of speaking with someone who has been fighting that fight quite literally. Michael Chandler went from college wrestling to fighting for and becoming a 3-time MMA world champion. Michael lost his most recent fight and is currently going through the process of picking himself up after that loss. Throughout life, we will all have our hands raised in victory and suffer the pain of defeat. What we will come to realize is that it doesn’t really matter which one happens, as long as you have outperformed your previous self. Those losses are just learning experiences that you can grow from. Remember, failure is an event, not a person.

In this episode, we talk about…

  • Michael’s professional bio
  • Unpacking the experience of losing the fight
  • Operating from a standpoint of gratitude so that you are able to pick yourself back up
  • Sources of motivation for Michael that came from life experience
  • Thoughts when seeing people who won’t reach their potential
  • What the top 1 percenters know that others don’t
  • When you should be a little harder on yourself
  • Getting out of the moments when you want to quit
  • Having the little guy mentality
  • Importance of surrounding yourself with the right people
  • Making sure to get yourself outside of your comfort zone
  • Visualizing the fight before you get there
